Youth Empowered Schools (YES)
Project Oz has counselors in District 87 and Unit 5 to help students with problems they are having with school, family, friends, and more. A counselor is available to help you talk it out, set some goals, and learn new skills. The counselor can talk with parents, too, to give new ideas on how to get everyone involved and going in the same direction. Talk to an Oz counselor to get started on a path to higher achievement.
College is not out of reach! Each year we take students on college campus visits, and we support your dreams and your studies. We’ll help you find colleges and do the paperwork. Talk to us about it.
Learning & Leading
Learning & Leading is an 8-week summer internship program. These paid internships are competitive, and students begin applying in January and February. Each year, about 40 positions open, providing work experience, a paycheck, and classes that help you learn what it takes to enter the workforce. Talk to the Oz counselor to find out how to apply for these opportunities.
HYPE Youth Groups are at Bloomington High School, Normal Community High School, and Normal Community West. These students lead arts and culture programs, teach safety tips, and develop informational campaigns. Talk to an Oz counselor about how to join these dynamic groups.
