Programs offered by Project Oz

We have been working with youth and families in McLean County since 1973.  We focus on preventing drug abuse, empowering youth and young adults, helping runaway teens, teaching independent living skills to homeless youth, and helping teens to stay in school.

Our top priority is to keep young people safe and healthy.  Each year we work with over 100 homeless youth.  We teach life skills, help them prepare to find and maintain jobs at living wages, and help them access a wide variety of supportive services.  We teach drug prevention to nearly 2,000 students in area schools every year, teaching them ways of avoiding alcohol and drugs, and building their inner strengths to effectively address stresses and problems.  We help about 200 runaway teens every year, reuniting them with their families, and we help teens from other states get back home.  And, we work with 120 students at area schools to help them learn how to recognize and change behaviors that are holding them back.

We teach young people and families how to strengthen skills and learn new ones that will propel them to higher and higher levels of success.
