Prevention and Education

The news is good. With so much focus on those who use drugs (or talk about it, anyway) we tend to forget that most teens are NOT using. The focus of our prevention and education program is to get the word out. Our goal is to help students, teachers and parents equip themselves with knowledge about drugs, life skills, and violence prevention.

To meet the educational and training needs of McLean County, we offer:

Trainings for teachers, administrators, community groups, agencies, and law enforcement

Education for any school in McLean County, any grade level, standard and special education, and inclusive classrooms. We typically teach a unit lasting two to three weeks in any given classroom.

Curricula written by our staff along with classroom teachers for students in 1st grade through High School, designed for inclusive classrooms. There are specific volumes on Drug Information, Life Skills, and Violence Prevention topics. We also have curricula written especially for students with disabilities.

Prevention activities including individual counseling, group activities, after school programs, summer school programs, Teen Leadership Prevention Groups, and Prevention Coalitions

Parent Programs which can be school-based, community-based, or business-based

Project Oz wants people to be free of the physical and psychological harm that comes from drug abuse and the family and personal damage that drug use causes.
